Beneath the Surface is more than a collection of poems; it is an invitation to examine, question, and better understand yourself. Luciana explores her silent battles and innermost reflections with curiosity, courage, and care. Through poetry and prose, she invites readers into a journey where cancer, dyslexia, and hidden dreams illuminate the power of moving from darkness into light.
“I absolutely loved reading your book! The structure is amazing. The way each poem is followed by a deep reflection and then a self-reflection section—it’s such a unique setup. It allows the reader to process and appreciate the poetry in a whole new way. I’ve never read a book like this before, and I think it’s brilliant!”

“Luciana opens a door wide enough to enter the whole of a life. There is a bioluminescence to her autobiographical rendering—her glow pulls you into the dark essence around it: joyfully tragic in some instances. This book isn’t just poetry; it’s a masterclass in storytelling, guiding reflections, and a nonlinear lattice of memory and legacy. It educates and elevates.”

“The first poem, The Big Sea That I Sail, stopped me in my tracks. I couldn’t get past the first stanza without tearing up. The realization of what the ‘Big C’ represented hit me all at once, and I was a mess! This book is incredibly deep and touching.”
